Certification Level
Toastmasters International provides two training tracks, the Communication and
Leadership Tracks.
The Communication Track focuses on improved communication skills. There are four levels:
Competent Toastmaster (CTM), Advanced Toastmaster Bronze,
Advanced Toastmaster Silver, and Advanced Toastmaster
Gold.
For the first level, CTM, the Toastmaster must give
10 speeches from the Communication and Leadership manual.
For successive levels, the Toastmaster must complete two
additional manuals (5 speeches). There are fifteen
manuals to choose from, including Discussion Leader,
Story Telling, the Salesperson, Technical Presentations,
Speeches by Management, Special Occasion Speeches, etc.
The ATM-silver and ATM-gold certifications have
additional communication requirements.
Toastmasters select which advanced manuals they wish to work on to
reach the next level of certification. When a new level
is reached, the Toastmaster is awarded a new badge and a
certificate.
The Toastmaster's accomplishment is
published in Toastmaster magazine and, if requested,
Toastmasters International will send a letter to their
employer acknowledging this achievement.
